Terms of Service
Last updated: May 25, 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating a Topicx account, subscribing to a plan, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Topicx.
2. The service
Topicx generates AI summaries of publicly available YouTube channels, grouped into topics that you define. Free topics are curated by Topicx and rotate on a schedule. Paid plans add your own topics, channel weights, on-demand summary credits, and higher limits as described on the pricing page.
We do not provide YouTube content itself, do not host video, and do not replace YouTube. We rely on publicly available metadata and transcripts.
3. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA) and able to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your Google or Facebook sign-in credentials safe. You agree to provide accurate information.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service, or break, circumvent, or interfere with any security or authentication mechanism,
- automate access in a way that exceeds documented rate limits or that degrades the service for others,
- upload, generate, or share content that is illegal, infringes third parties' rights, or violates YouTube's, Google's, or Meta's platform policies,
- attempt to extract personal data about other users or to identify individuals through the summaries,
- resell or sublicense the service without our written consent.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds
- Paid plans renew automatically each billing period unless you cancel before renewal from the subscription page.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the current period.
- Except where required by law (notably the EU consumer 14-day withdrawal right for newly purchased subscriptions where digital content has not been substantially consumed), fees already charged are non-refundable.
- We may change pricing or plan limits. We will give at least 30 days' notice and the new price will apply from your next renewal.
6. Free topics and beta features
Free topics are provided for discovery. They may change, rotate, or be removed at any time. Features marked “beta” may be unstable or removed without notice.
7. AI-generated summaries
Summaries are produced by large-language-model providers from publicly available YouTube transcripts. They may be incomplete, contain mistakes, or fail to capture nuance. Do not rely on a summary for legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical decisions. Always check the underlying video for important details.
8. Intellectual property
Topicx, including its brand, code, and design, is owned by Ultrix BV (enterprise number BE 0797.795.009, registered at Guido Gezellestraat 20, 9300 Aalst, Belgium). We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service in line with these Terms. You keep ownership of the content you create (your topic definitions, weights, notes). You grant us a limited licence to use that content to operate and improve the service for you.
Source videos and transcripts are the property of their creators and of YouTube / Google. We do not transfer any rights in them to you.
9. Third-party services
Topicx integrates with Google (sign-in, YouTube Data API), Meta / Facebook (sign-in), Stripe (billing), and our AI provider. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or other users, or use the service in a way that is fraudulent or abusive. You can stop using Topicx at any time and delete your account from our data deletion page.
11. Disclaimers
Topicx is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that summaries are accurate or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the service is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) EUR 100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, or lost data.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law (for example, liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. The competent courts of the judicial district of East Flanders, division Dendermonde have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives consumers the right to sue in their home country.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
